On Sunday, 9th of October 2016, a young Chinese woman who was travelling on foot-board of the special express train from Galle to Colombo in Sri Lanka, slipped from the foot-board in front of the Madampe Railway Station. A man in China who tried to take a selfie with a walrus was killed by the animal as it playfully dragged the man into the water, according to eyewitnesses.
