Teen takes off life jacket to take sefie and drowns

On August 17th 2019, Saturday, a Yemeni teen drowned in Langkawi, Malaysia, after attempting to take a selfie on a jet ski.

The victim was identified as Al-Shabibi Ibrahim Manueer, 17 years old, from Yemen. The incident happened at Cenang Beach in Langkawi.

Reportedly, at about 11am, the victim took off his life jacket before trying to take the selfie. While taking the pictures he was knocked off from the jet ski by a strong wave and fell into the sea. Fellow tourists on the beach witnessed this but were not able to save his life.

The victim was taken to the Cenang Beach and was administered CPR. The youngster was pronounced dead on arrival by the medical officer in Sultanah Maliha Hospital.
