On July 27th, 2019, a Spanish tourist fell to death when he tried to take pictures at Na Mueang 2 waterfall on the island of Koh Samui in Thailand.
The man, identified as David Rocamundi Conesa, 26, from Barcelona, had been with seven other friends hiking to the top of the scenic Na Muang 2 waterfall in Koh Samui on Saturday afternoon.
The group reached the peak and posed for pictures overlooking the breathtaking jungle scenery. In blue shorts and white shirt, David posed looking down over the water as it splashed over the rocks.
But tragically, just moments later the Barcelona resident slipped while police believe he was trying to clamber down over the wet surface of the boulders.
Rescue workers searched the area and found David’s lifeless body later that night at 11pm, lying in a pool between boulders near the bottom of the waterfall. He had a six-inch long wound on his head and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police recovered the body the next morning because it was too dark to reach the area.
