Hiker died falling down a Waterfall in Hong Kong

Ng Tung Chai waterfalls in Tai Mo Shan Country Park

On Friday, 5th April 2019, a 26 year old Filipino woman slipped into Ng Tung Chai waterfalls in Tai Mo Shan Country Park, Tai Po, Hong Kong.

The woman was airlifted to the hospital by government flying service helicopter but succumbed to death there. The young woman was a customer service officer in a call center of a finance company.  She was hiking to the peak of Tai Mo Shan, the highest peak in Hong Kong, when the accident happened. She was accompanied by her younger sister and four other friends.

Ng Tung Chai waterfall is 15 metres high. The medical professionals were not able to save her even though help was availed as very quickly.
