German tourist falls to his death at Machu Pichu

The body of a German tourist was recovered from a ravine after he fell while visiting the famous ancient site of Machu Picchu in the Peruvian Andes. on Wendesday, June 29, 2016.

Oliver Park, 51, ignored safety signs and warnings from wardens and went into a restricted area close to the edge of a cliff.

Mr Park reportedly leaped into the air while attempting to take a ‘flying’ selfie with the mountainous scenery in the background, and slipped backwards down a steep ravine at the historic site.

Rescuers found the body on Thursday and took it to a local police station.

On the same date, also in Peru, a South Korean tourist fell to his death.
