Two college students drown in India after taking selfie

A college student died after drowning in Waldevi dam near Ghoti in Nashik district, India, while taking a ‘selfie’ on Saturday, February 13, 2016.

His friend who jumped into the water to save him died too.

Ten college students went for a picnic to the dam. During the picnic, Sourabh Jagannath Chulbhar (18), resident of CIDCO area in Nashik, lost balance when he was taking his picture while standing on a rock of the dam.

His friend, Ajinkya Bhausaheb Gaikar (18), also jumped into the water to save him, but both drowned.

Later, some villagers rushed to the spot and fished out the bodies with the help of local fishermen.
