A Polish couple have died after falling from a cliff in Portugal’s Cabo da Roca, while apparently trying to take selfies with their children on the edge of a cliff on Saturday, August 9th of 2014.
The family were visiting the cliffs at Cabo da Roca on the west coast of Portugal, a popular destination for tourists in the area. Portuguese authorities were investigating the incident, which is thought to have occurred as the couple attempted to take pictures of themselves.
Emergency services were alerted on Saturday evening by a Spanish couple. Weather conditions forced rescue workers to abandon attempts to recover the bodies on Saturday night, but the couple were eventually found on Sunday.
The couple’s children, aged 5 and 6, were taken in the care of Polish diplomats and are seeing psychologists.
